Hello, I’m Ellen - an experienced art educator offering personalised tutoring across North West, North, and East London. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I am currently Head of Visual Arts at a leading North London independent school.

I specialise in Fine Art and Art & Design, and lead a department that also delivers 3D Design, Photography, and Textiles. Alongside teaching, I hold a degree in Fashion and Textiles and maintain my own creative practice, selling hand-thrown ceramics. This breadth of experience allows me to support students across a wide range of disciplines.

I have a strong track record of helping students achieve top grades at GCSE and A-Level. I guide them through exam board expectations while encouraging them to develop personal, meaningful work—regularly supporting students to secure grades 7 and above.

My teaching is centred on each student’s individual interests and creative voice. I aim to make the process both rigorous and enjoyable, helping young people feel confident in their ideas while fully meeting assessment objectives.

I offer in-person sessions covering practical processes such as ceramics, plaster and alginate casting, drawing, and painting, as well as online sketchbook sessions focused on artist research, annotation, and developing ideas into strong final outcomes.

I hold a PGCE, QTS, and an enhanced DBS. As a parent myself, I understand the value of supportive, tailored teaching and creating an environment where students can truly thrive.
